Small Groups at St Raphael

At the call of Archbishop Hebda for renewed missionary discipleship across our local church, many members of Saint Raphael have created a thriving network of small groups. Beginning February 3&4, you are invited to join one as a special Lenten practice this year. You might choose to “come and see” just for this unique season before Easter. Or you might choose to continue into the future with your group of fellow disciples. You might even hear the call to start your own group with people in your life who have been thirsting for communion with friends and with God. But we challenge each member of our community to respond in at least one of the following four ways this Lent!

Join a Group

If you are new to small group discipleship or have not been in one for while, choose this option. Follow the steps below, but we especially encourage you to talk to one of the small group leaders personally after any of the weekend Masses February 3-4 & 10-11.

1. See all our groups here and discern which might be for you.
2. Fill out this form and wait for the group leader to contact you. You can indicate a specific group you would like to join in the comments section.

Start a Group

This option is for those who hear God’s call to invite people in their lives into a new group, and want to grow as a leader this Lent. It might also be for those who already lead or belong to a particular ministry and want to see it grow.

1. Sign up for the new leader group here.
2. You will be contacted about joining a special new leaders training group this Lent.

Attend a Group Event

Group Events are special opportunities to grow in your relationship with Christ and with your fellow disciples. Small groups are encouraged to attend as a team, but it is equally geared for individuals who are not currently able to meet with a regular small group. You will have a chance to share faith with an ad-hoc group of fellow attendees.

1. Sign up to receive our newsletter about new group events here.
2. Mark your calendar for one or more of the group events listed here.

Now might not be the right time for you to make small groups a part of your life. You might be travelling most of Lent, you might not have found the right group, or all the groups might have been full. We want to create a waiting list with your ideas for a new future small group that you would join once we have enough interest and train a leader.

1. Put your name and contact info on the Prospective list here.
2. Email your idea for a future small group to
